My husband and I hosted two Thanksgivings and attended a third this year… We are a bit turkey-ed out right about now, but it was great seeing all of our friends and family and enjoying the food. My husband cooked a turkey for the first time and then did it again less than two weeks later, and they both came out fabulously.

You can probably tell that I’m still learning the ropes with my new camera!

This camera treated me very, very well for over four and a half years, but now it belongs to a close friend of mine, as I’ve upgraded to a Canon 50D, with which I am completely in love!

This was a very casual picnic with friends to see the fireworks so I didn’t want to haul out my tripod, so everything was shot handheld at 1600ISO (and I’m very surprised I didn’t get more grain!). They are a little soft a full res but for a first try I think they turned out halfway decent.
