Fog is pretty rare in Chicago. It only comes around under very specific circumstances, but the majority of the times I’ve seen it is due to a quick thaw. The ground around where I live was still covered with snow at the end of February, and still is in some places, until we suddenly jumped to above freezing and in to the 40’s and 50’s once March came around. So on the evening of March 8 my neighborhood was under a thick layer of fog, we hit the low 60’s for the first time in 2010 on March 10. The camera didn’t actually capture the fog as thick as it was to the eye, and just a block further east along a major thoroughfare in my city it was very dense and hard to see. The fog lingered until late in the morning on March 9, so I was able to run in the last bits before the sun came around and burned it away.

A special little lady was celebrating her second birthday, so her very talented mom invited me over to help make these treats…
but I managed to zombie-fy one of them (ever so slightly)!

My husband and I hosted two Thanksgivings and attended a third this year… We are a bit turkey-ed out right about now, but it was great seeing all of our friends and family and enjoying the food. My husband cooked a turkey for the first time and then did it again less than two weeks later, and they both came out fabulously.

You can probably tell that I’m still learning the ropes with my new camera!
